About Me

As a licensed psychotherapist it is my passion and privilege to support individuals and families on their paths toward insight, skill-building, & a greater sense of peace.

One of my favorite parts about working in the counseling field is the diversity of communities one can serve during their career. Since 2004 I’ve treated kids & teens, new parents, adults, couples, and groups in a wide range of forums. I spent my early years of clinical work between LA & the Bay Area, working with higher-risk communities through school-based programs and local non-profits. I also have extensive experience providing nature-based therapies to adults and teens, and guiding wilderness rites-of-passage to mark major life changes. I currently lead postpartum support groups for new moms and their babies, and also facilitate community grief rituals.

I received my BA from UC Santa Cruz in Ecopsychology, and my master’s degree from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology with a focus in Wilderness Therapy. Transpersonal psychology affirms that the mind-body-spirit connection are elemental parts of our human psyche and healing. Wilderness therapy, based in Ecopsychology, integrates the natural world into therapy and applies the belief that our human psyche is tied to the health of the planet. As such, I integrate the importance of the healing properties of nature into my work with clients, as we cope with the stress of our fast-paced lives.

I am trained in mindfulness, body-centered somatic psychotherapy, ecotherapy,  parts work, & Gestalt therapy. I am certified in EMDR to treat trauma, anxiety, and negative beliefs. I am also certified as a PMH-C: perinatal mental health clinician, and a large part of my practice supports families during fertility journeys, pregnancy, & postpartum. Finally, I have mentored in the teachings of Sobonfu and Malidoma Somé, bringing the wisdom of community grief tending practiced to the West, helping us collectively learn to grieve and heal in connection.

In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I have taught a college-level wilderness backpacking course with the Sierra Institute through UC Davis Extension on Nature Literature and Ecopsychology, as well as co-produced a short documentary on the impact of tourism in Southeast Asia. I love to hike, swim, bake, travel, and spend time with my friends and family. Finally, I am a parent, which has been the most transformative and potent role I have served in my life yet.
